The Argali is a wild mountain sheep native to Central Asia. It is the largest of wild sheep species. There are several subspecies over its range, the one shown being O. a. polii, also called the Marco Polo Argali or Pamir Wild Sheep and native mainly to the Pamir mountains. Only the female is shown at present but the male has large spiral horns and looks similar to the male Urial sheep on the link below. They are critically endangered by over-hunting.
