The Hippopotamus, also shortened to Hippo, is the third heaviest land mammal (after the elephant and rhino) and is native to sub-Saharan Africa. Its name means river horse and it is semi-aquatic, spending most of the day in rivers/water resting and the dusk/night grazing/feeding.
