The Common or Eastern Wallaroo, although sounding like a kangaroo/wallaby cross, is a large, stocky kangaroo native to hilly or mountainous areas of most of mainland Australia.

Males are nearly twice as tall as females at some 4-4.5 feet tall and are darker, as shown (females are a sandier colour). Unlike most other kangaroos of the macropus genus, the Common Wallaroo is mainly solitary and largely nocturnal.
