The Australian Water Dragon is an agamid lizard native to
eastern Australia from Queensland to the south. It is semi
aquatic and partly arboreal.
The male has stronger colouring than females and juveniles
and can grow to a metre long, two thirds of which is tail.
The tail helps it swim. It can also run on its hind legs.
Communication is similar to that of the Bearded Dragon,
using head bobbing and arm waving to indicate dominance and
