Grass Emerald Moth

Pseudoterpna pruinata

Grass Emerald moth

When newly-emerged, the Grass Emerald moth is bluish green. However, it quickly fades to a grey-beige colour as above. A green tinge can still be seen on the head and some blue-green scales are still visible on the underwings.

The above photo was taken in early August 2010 in Cork, Ireland, by Ken Billington and is used with his permission.

Ken's insect photos can be seen on his own website: http://focusingonwildlife.com/Insects/index.html
