Barasingha or Swamp Deer
The Barasingha or Swamp Deer has a few remaining isolated populations in north and central India and Nepal.
A medium-/large-sized deer, it is over 4 feet high at the shoulders (larger than the Fallow Deer and the Sika). Like many deer, the coat is redder in summer and browner in winter.
The stag has impressive antlers that are re-grown each year. Like most deer, the hind doesn't have antlers.
