Oryx and related Antelopes
Oryxes are desert antelopes that can survive extreme heat and go a long time without water.
The ARABIAN ORYX,
, the smallest Oryx, was extinct in the wild but a captive breeding programme has allowed re-introduction to its native Middle East.
, also called the Screwhorn Antelope, is native to the Sahara region of North and West Africa and is critically endangered in the wild.
Their pale coats help to keep them cool in the sun.
