The Black Lemur comes from a small area of forest in
The male, above, has wholly black fur. It can be
distinguished from the Blue-eyed Black Lemur (Eulemur
flavifrons, previously classed as a subspecies) by its
orange eyes and stuck-out ear-tufts and sideburns.
The female, above and below, is brown-grey with a white neck
ruff/side-burns. She also has orange eyes.
