Prionailurus viverrinus (Felis viverrina)
The Fishing Cat, related to the Asian Leopard Cat, is native to wetlands of the Indian subcontinent through to Indochina and Indonesia.
About twice the size of a domestic cat, it has partially-webbed paws.
Unusually for cats, it is always near water, swims well and preys mainly on fish, crayfish and amphibians.
It is scarce through most of its range and has suffered significant population decline through drainage or development of its wetland habitat for agriculture.
