Canary Blue Butterfly

Cyclyrius webbianus

The Canary Blue is a small butterfly endemic to the Canary Islands. The female, shown below depositing eggs, has a golden-bronze topside with a little blue by the body; the male (not shown) has much more blue on the topside, increasing in colour nearer the body. Undersides for both are similar, with white webbed lines and one thick white line with a tooth-shaped bulge, as above, and 1-2 "eye-spots".
