Lear's Macaw (named after poet/author/illustrator Edward Lear), also called the Indigo Macaw, is the second rarest Macaw in the wild. It comes from Bahia, Brazil.

It looks similar to the better known Hyacinth Macaw, but is smaller and a less bright blue colour -- more grey-blue or green-blue on the head and indigo on the body; the yellow patches by its beak and eyering are also much paler and a different shape.
