All three species of King Parrot (Alisterus genus) have striking combinations of red (head/breast),
green (wings) and blue (rump, collar, tail) plumage.
The Australian King Parrot comes from Eastern Australia and is the largest of the King Parrots.
(Seen above with budgies.) The male has a scarlet red body colour, with a light green stripe on each green wing.
He has a red upper beak bordered in black and a blue rump.
The female Australian King Parrot has a green head and chest, a muted red front,
only a faint pale green streak on the wings (or none) and a grey upper beak.
