There are two species of Caique, the White-bellied and the Black-headed, both also called Parrot instead of Caique. The former comes from Brazil and eastern Peru, mainly north of the Amazon.

The White-bellied species, also called White-breasted and Apricot-headed, has three subspecies: the Yellow-thighed Caique (above, p.l. xanthomeria), the Green-thighed Caique (below) and the Yellow-tailed Caique (as above with yellow upper tail).
