The Peach-faced Lovebird, also sometimes called Rosy-faced, has a pink face with red brow, green body and mid blue rump. It has attractive feathers in its short tail of salmon-pink, green and blue. It also has the thinnest eye-ring of the lovebirds and a light neutral or white beak (dark in juvenile). Originally from SW Africa, Peach-faced Lovebirds are commonly bred in captivity. There is also a feral colony of escapees living in the wild in Lothian, Scotland and, reportedly, one in London. |
