The Solitary or Collared Lory comes from Fiji. "Collared" is somewhat of a misnomer since the green plumage at the neck is only on the sides and does not cover the nape.

It is the only lory in the genus phigys and is sometimes placed in genus vini with other Pacific Island lories such as the Blue-crowned although it resembles the black-/purple-capped lories in genus lorius.
