The pretty Desmarest's Fig Parrot, also known as Desmarest's Golden-headed and the Large Fig Parrot (large for fig parrots but still very small for a parrot) comes from Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Male and female have identical plumage. There are six sub-species with different geographical ranges.
