The Dalmation Pelican is native to the Balkans, the Caspian/Central Asia and China. It has a top-knot or mop-head, an orange-yellow lower bill pouch and grey feet.
The Dalmation is the largest, heaviest pelican.
Dalmation Pelicans and Cormorants on the shore of the Caspian.
An endangered species, a large part of the remaining population lives in Kazakhstan.
The flexible pouch is used for catching and swallowing fish.
Although these birds (above) have "pink" backs, they are not "Pink-backed" Pelicans but juvenile Dalmations.
The top of head seems too tidy for either species but the giveaways are the lack of black eyeliner, the grey top of the bill rather than cream and, particularly, the grey legs/feet (rather than pink).
