The Northern Bald or Waldrapp Ibis is native to North Africa and the Middle East but is critically endangered in the wild. It is being re-introduced to Turkey and Southern Europe. Unlike most other ibises, it is not a water/wading bird but lives/eats on land, often in arid areas.
