The American Flamingo, also known as the Caribbean Flamingo, is native to the Caribbean and the Galapagos Islands.

A large flamingo closely related to the Greater Flamingo, it can be distinguished by its strongly orange-coloured head and neck plumage, tricolor bill with orange middle section and grey legs, sometimes with pink knees.

Juveniles sometimes have white bills with black, like the Chilean Flamingo, until the pinky-orange part develops.
