| The Common Gull has a silver-grey back and wings with black wing-tips and white "mirrors". It is much smaller than the Herring Gull and has pale yellow legs. It sometimes has a black ring on its beak and its head is streaky grey in winter. Its name derives from flocks that feed on "common" land and sports fields; it is not the most common of gulls. Known as the Mew Gull in North America. | ||
