The Blue Eared Pheasant is not a blue-eared pheasant but is a blue-grey pheasant and one of four "eared" species which have whiskers of feathers sticking up like horns.
(They are also not the "horned" pheasants, - those are the Tragopans). The Blue Eared Pheasant is native to mountain forests of central China.
Unusually for pheasants, male and female Eared Pheasants have similar plumage and appearance, although the hens are slightly smaller.
Like other pheasants, including chickens, the nest is a scrape in the ground.
