The beautiful male Palawan Peacock Pheasant is the most colourful of the peacock-pheasants which all have "eyed" plumage and the males raise and spread their tails like peacocks.

 The male raises his iridescent neck feathers and drops food items for the female. If she accepts the food offerings, he then spreads his wings and tail in display to her and walks round her.
