The Puna Teal comes from the high lakes and ponds of the Andes.
It was previously thought to be a subspecies of the similar-looking Silver Teal. The Puna has no yellow on its blue/black bill, has clear white cheeks and a black cap.
Male and female have similar plumage.
Like the Coscoroba swan above, the Puna comes from South America
The Puna has closer stripes on the side than the Silver Teal.
