The Silver Teal from South America has a grey/silver underback and yellow on the base of its blue bill. Its cap and beak stripe are very dark brown. Its cheek is creamy rather than white.

-- The Puna Teal, also from South America, is like the Silver Teal but has an all blue bill. Its cap and beak stripe are black. Its cheek is white.

-- The Hottentot Teal, from Africa, is similar but with brown cheek marks, an all bright blue bill (with black stripe) and beige underside back.
