The Hottentot Teal duck (female - above) has similar plumage and bill to the male

The Hottentot Teal is native to sub-Saharan Africa. In eastern and southern Africa it migrates but in western Africa it remains sedentary.

The Hottentot Teal of Africa is a little similar (plumage, patterning, dark crown, light cheek, blue bill) to the Silver Teal and the Puna Teal of South America
