African Black Duck

Anas sparsa

The African Black Duck is prevalent through most of sub-Saharan Africa. The nominate sub-species shown is also called the South African Black Duck and comes from southern Africa, south of Zimbabwe.
Male and female have similar plumage but males also have spurs on their wings, used for defending territory
