The Violet Turaco, also called the Violaceous Turaco, is native to Angola.
It has iridescent blue-violet plumage, an orange beak, yellow face-shield, crimson crown and red under-wings in flight.
The Violet Turaco looks like it is wearing an orange dust-mask over a yellow beak, tied with a white band. (Bird flu deterrent?)
It has all the features of typical Turacos: semi-zygodactyl feet, true colour plumage pigment, chicks with
clawed wings and flock members which help with childcare.
