The Masked Wagtail is one of the Central Asian subspecies of the White Wagtail; it inhabits the Tien Shan, Altai, west Himalayan and related regions.
It looks similar to the nominal White and the Pied Wagtails but has a completely black neck and only a white face mask.

The back is dark grey rather than black. Like all Wagtails, it is adept at catching flying insects.
