The Himalayan Rubythroat, also called the
White-tailed Rubythroat, as its name indicates is native to
the Himalayas and high altitude foothills.
Like the related Siberian
Rubythroat and Bluethroat, it belongs to the Old World flycatcher family,
specifically the chats, together with the Nightingale (same
genus) and the red-breasted (European) Robin. Photos on this page were taken in
Kazakhstan by Alexandra Makhnina.
