Silver-beaked Tanager

Ramphocelus carbo

The Silver-beaked Tanager is native to the northern half (by length, two-thirds by area) of South America.
The male has a deep, rich crimson head, neck and highlights on his dark brown body with dark brown wings and tail. His lower beak has the white Tanager signature mark.
The female (Greta Carbo) is dark brown with a strong reddish hue.
