The
Purple-tailed Imperial Pigeon is found in West Papua and Papua New Guinea. Imperial Pigeons are large, forest-dwelling pigeons with stomachs and guts adapted for eating fruit without damaging the seeds so that they assist in dispersing the seeds of their food plants. |

| Male and female have similar plumage, a pinkish sandy front, pink head with red eye area, blue-grey nape, green wings and a purple tail tipped with silver. | |
