The Diamond Dove comes from Australia where it is one of the smallest doves at some 20 cm length. It is native to most of the country including the arid centre.

Male and female have similar plumage with "diamond" white dots on grey wings and pink eye-rings. Females are a little browner grey and males a little greyer.
