The Firecrest, also Common Firecrest,
with its relative the Goldcrest, are the UK's smallest
birds, a little smaller than the Wren.
The Firecrest has a stronger face marking than the Goldcrest, with a white eyebrow and a crest more orange than yellow.
The photos in the top row are close to "as taken",
quickly and poor, with the bird silhouetted against the sky.
