The Little Owl, despite its scientific name "noctua," is often seen about in the daytime and will hunt by day or night. At some 25 cm length it is about the size of a bulky Mistle Thrush. It lives in the temperate regions of Eurasia and North Africa. Introduced to the UK from continental Europe, it is now a resident breeder. |
