The colourful Green Woodpecker
has a red cap, red moustache (male)
and blue-white eyes. Also a call like a car alarm or
cackling laugh. It will visit gardens looking for ants' nests. The female has similar plumage but with a black moustache and the juvenile is similar with a speckled front and back. |
